Kanyakumari is a town in Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu state of India. It is at the southernmost point of the Indian Peninsula. It is also called Cape Comorin. It is one of the most popular tourist places in India. Kanyakumari District, in which it is located, is a place of great natural beauty - from the blue seas of Kanyakumari town to the blue hills of the Western Ghats in the interior.
Kanyakumari has a number of myths associated with it and hence is one of the biggest attractions for pilgrims all the year round. People from all over the world come here to watch the spectacular sight of sunrise/sunset especially during Chitra Pournima as one can see spectacular view of sunset and moon rise at the same time. This is the only place in India where both sunrise and sunset can be seen because it is the meeting point of three ocean bodies - the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean, and the Arabian Sea. So when are you planning your trip to kanyakumari.
