Morning with century’s longest solar eclipse

I am one of those luckiest people of the earth today who witnessed this century’s longest duration solar eclipse. Solar eclipse was observed between 5:30AM to 7:30 AM i.e. in the morning just after the sunrise. I usually do not wake up early in the morning but my mother does. She woke up early and she says that it was breezy sun soaked mornings until 6:15AM. However suddenly sunlight began to vanish and it started to get dark. She rushed to wake me up as she knew I wanted to witness this cosmic event. I woke up and rushed to the window and what I saw was unbelievable. It was getting darker and darker every second. Suddenly day turned like dark evening and people in my neighbor began to scream with joy to celebrate the eclipse. People were anxiously waiting for it to happen. It was dark for at least 4 minutes however sun could hardly be seen clearly due to some cloud. People were gazing towards sky with x-ray films. There were lots of misleading campaign by unscrupulous pundits and astrologers about this eclipse. But hats off to all those news channels which campaigned against such superstitions. In India Taregana near Patna was hotspot for watching solar eclipse. Scientist gathered from days before to record this moment and perform experiments which may help in revealing few more mysteries of the Sun. Taregana is also crucial because it is the place of great Ancient Indian Scientist Aryabhatta. Though his home and findings were all flushed by the floods long time back, but what a moment it was to remember this great ancient star on whose name our first satellite was launched in the space i.e. ARYABHATTA.

As against the superstitious ritual or myth, I and my mother had tea. Actually no one cooks or eats during solar eclipse as it is said to bring misfortunes. But I was delighted to overrule such crap ritual. Even my mother who is a Theist and die hard worshiper of god does not believe in all these. Overall it was a wonderful morning today. The world getting darker and darker and then again our own Sun dominating the moon and enlightening the whole world with its light is of course a splendid phenomenon and worthwhile to watch. Those who consider it as beginning of misfortune should be pitied upon as they really need to get out of sick and superstitious mentality.

Racist attacks on indian students in Oz

Race, region, language lends homogeneity to a group and promotes amity, unity and friendship. But it has its own cons. Indian students studying abroad are facing such cons. With the recent rise in attacks on Indian students studying in Australia it won’t be inappropriate to say that Indian students are seeking their higher education at the stake of their life. As mentioned in some reports, some of the attacks have proved detrimental and it has created an atmosphere of fear, anger and disharmony in Indian hearts inside and abroad the nation.

Indian studetnts studying in Oz to embettish themseles with masters degree are now finding it difficult even to survive there. Cases like beating Indian students without any reason, asking for ransom, looting, harrassing them mentally and physcally has become common now. Some of the Aussie morons call it “curry bashing”. With these events of racial discrimination some indian students have dropped their study in mid-way and returned back to India. Apart from students taxi drivers of indian origin are also looked down upon and attcked.

I was shocked by the police rampage over the peaceful protest against the attacks. Trusty words for australian police “Accussed will be punished” don’t seem to be valid yet.

The interesting part in this context is that I read atleast two to three ads in education today magazine which invited indian student to study in Oz. I have seen many such ads every now and then. Australian United Pathway Program (AUPP) even gives complete visa assistance and promises Indian students for guidence through recognized agencies. But what they don’t assure is security, which seems to be the prime factor. There are more than 95,000 students studying in Oz. Australian govt earns 14000 million annually from indian students. If Indians revert from Oz it will be major setback to Oz economy. I don’t know why aussie govt is still dumb. This is not the first the first time that indians have faced such thing in Oz.

There is really a need to develop cosmopoliatan outlook or replace racial discrimination against indians thereby catholicity of outlook and breadth of vision which will embrace the whole of humanity.

There is the need that Oz students should grow academically as violence can not hide their incompetence as compared to asian students. The western and Aussie students are more into the sex, violence and drugs and the result is degradation of moral values. The US movies such as American pie 1-5 and then beata house and to add more the movie called college etc etc reflect the college culture there in western countries. Australia is no different, rather they are more into it.
